Evidence has a price

Experimentation takes time and effort. The question is how much uncertainty it's worth reducing before you commit more of either.

A two-week test can be valuable if it prevents a year-long mistake, even when the idea being tested fails. Learning early gives you choices while the commitment is still manageable. Write down the cost and capacity you're willing to spend, so “we're still learning” doesn't become an unlimited extension.
