Chapter 6: Adoption Is Part of the Product

Adoption is often postponed until after the system is built. By then, the decisions that made adoption easy or impossible have already been made.

People do not adopt a capability because it is innovative. They adopt it because it fits the work, solves a felt problem, preserves necessary judgment, and does not impose a hidden tax larger than the benefit.
